Frequently Asked Questions - Jetstar Travel Insurance

Jetstar Travel Insurance coverage begins upon check-in for Jetstar flights departing from Singapore undertaken by you travelling on a Jetstar air carrier and is limited within the boundary of the specific country/region/territory (within the selected Area) in which the insured person disembarks from a Jetstar air carrier until:

  • in respect of a return trip, you return home or until the end of the period of insurance as shown on the certificate of insurance, whichever is sooner; or
  • in respect of a one-way trip, you depart the sovereign territory of the selected Area or the expiry date shown on the certificate of insurance, whichever is sooner.

To be eligible for Jetstar Travel Insurance you must be:

  • Aged 70 and under during the policy period
  • Travelling from Singapore
  • Singapore Resident
  • Travelling for 30 days or less

Jetstar Travel Insurance can be purchased even if you have a pre-existing condition. However, the policy will not cover the specific pre-existing condition of the Insured although you can continue to fully enjoy the other benefits included.

PRE-EXISTING MEDICAL CONDITION means any condition for which:

a) You received medical treatment, diagnosis, consultation or prescribed drugs within a 12 month period preceding the commencement of a trip; or

b) Medical advice or treatment was recommended by a medical practitioner within a 12 month period preceding the commencement of a trip; or

c) A reasonable person in the circumstances would be expected to be aware of within a 12 month period preceding the commencement of a trip

Your Jetstar Travel Insurance allows for non-financial changes to your policy made in conjunction with a change to your Jetstar itinerary. This rule applies for changes made before or during your trip.

Please notify AIG about your itinerary change by sending us an e-mail at jetstarchanges@aig.com with your policy number, name, original travel dates/duration and amended travel dates/duration.

Yes! We allow for policy cancellation as long as the request to do so is made prior to your departure date and subjected to no claim If you would like to cancel your policy, please contact AIG at jetstarchanges@aig.com.
